Our garden is committed to growing organic produce for the Sunshine Place, our local food pantry. With dedicated raised garden beds and an herb garden, we strive to provide useful crops for our neighbors in need. In the garden, we bring neighbors together in community through group workdays and social events each year.
For new gardeners, we provide mentorship and training opportunities through a variety of community activities. We enroll new gardeners each season, engage volunteers, invite gardeners to serve on our board, and welcome any helpful ideas and efforts for improving our work.
An educator, Master Gardener Volunteer and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Amy has been gardening at the SCCG since 2012. She takes particular interest in partnering with community members in the garden.
As a founding member, Ann’s expert green thumb, and creative problem solving has nurtured the growth of a strong relationship between SCCG and our community.
A longtime board member, Erik is a skilled and knowledgeable gardener. He is president of the Sun Prairie Parks association, invested in maximizing the green spaces in our community.
A talented gardener and prolific seed sprouter, Sterling has been managing volunteers and building amazing raised garden beds.
We love visitors! Feel free to drop in at any time of day or night to check out our garden.
